As a family photographer in Buffalo, NY, I adore capturing heartwarming family sessions. With a passion for storytelling through photography, I find so much joy in documenting the love, snuggles, and silliness shared by families. This particular session at Knox Farm was so much fun - I got to photograph the adorable-ness of this family, the kids playing, a few headlocks, and I even got to see some magic tricks, which was a first!

We've had quite a bit of smoke from the Canadian wildfires this year, giving the sky a bit of a hazy touch during our session. But it made for awesome lighting – it made everything look beautiful and flattering. I'm all about moody skies, and this one was a winner, especially when the sun decided to peek out now and then. And look at the cuddles! That bottom left shot above was one of my favorites from this session.
One of the many reasons I love photographing at Knox Farm is for the variety. I love that we can stay close to one area and get photographs with a beautiful field, open spaces, paths, a wooden fence, and tall trees. We only moved to two different spots during this session and the kids were able to run around, twirl, and play and the gallery had a great variety of images.
By this point in the session, the atmosphere was lively and fun. The kids were embracing their playful side and making all of us laugh. This genuine interaction translates into authentic images. Capturing their true spirit – the laughter, playfulness, and silliness – is what makes a photoshoot truly special.
And now see above for the magic show! Doesn’t that look real?! I was so impressed. It really looked like his thumb was detached from itself and I could definitely not pull that trick off so realistically. This is one of the best parts of photographing families - I never know quite how things will unfold and it’s honestly so much fun. In the photo below, my aim was to capture the essence of family fun and chaos, and I love the outcome. This amazing family went along with my idea, and I'm thrilled that we did it!
