What Should I use my Print Credit on?
So, you’ve had your photography session, chosen and purchased your package, and now you are able to use your print credit in the shop! Yay! The only question is - what should you choose? In this article, I go through some of my favorite products and why I think you should choose them!
1. The Lay Flat Album
This is one of my personal favorites. They are heirloom quality and gorgeous. Covers come in a choice of linen, vegan leather, or velvet. They are printed on thick pages that your toddler won’t be able to bend. I offer them in sizes 8x8, 10x10 and 12x12. Each album generally can fit around 30-40 images so you have a bunch of your favorites in one spot to view over and over. They come in a graphite color album box for storage. These albums make a great tabletop decoration and truly can be enjoyed for generations to come.
I can design the album for you based on your favorite image choices and send you a proof to check over before ordering.
The album in the below images is an 8x8 vegan leather cover album in the color “wave.” The debossing (text) on the album cover is included. It comes in different colors and fonts and you can personalize it to say whatever you would like!
2. The Lagniappe Hanging Canvas
This unique product is made with archival quality canvas with a matte finish, reclaimed wood and copper accents.
I love how it has a simple, yet beautiful design and the quality is top notch. It adds character to any wall in your home. It’s effortless to move around and really easy to hang anywhere you want.
It is manufactured using non-yellowing print varnish, which protects from scuffing, fading and humidity, has the added benefits of UV light protection and a 100+ year archival certification. Offered in sizes 11x14, 14x14 and 16x20.
3. Natural Wood Stand with a Matted Print
This is a unique way to display your matted prints. These are 5x7 prints printed on deep matte giclee paper and set in an archival 8x10 photo mat. The stand is solid oak. I love this item because it allows you to easily rotate your photos, plus I honestly just think it looks really cool! It looks beautiful on any table or mantle. It comes with 1 matted print to get your collection started, but you can always order more.
4. Framed matted prints
These are always a classic. While custom framing is expensive, this is a timeless way to display your memories in your home. I just really love having framed photos of our family around our home. Not only do they look nice, but they make me smile every time I see them. It’s also pretty cool to look at them and see how our family has grown and changed.
Printed on professional deep matte giclee photo paper, the image is mounted within a solid wood box-style frame and set behind clear, non-glare glass. They come ready-to-hang with a permanently sealed backing panel. These are high quality and a lovely way to display your family. Bonus: apparently science says that displaying family photos in your home is a boost to kids’ self-esteem. Can’t hurt, right?

5. Prints
Yep, just good old-fashioned printed photos. Frame them, put them in an album, give them to others, put them on a bulletin board - so many possibilities. In our digital world, make sure you have some printed photos for your kids and grandkids. Full disclosure, this is something that I think about when I wake up at 3:00AM - my kids not having any printed photos of us (I have thousands on my phone!)
You might be wondering, why not just print them myself online or at a pharmacy? And you totally can do that! In fact, you should if you just want some printed and aren’t too concerned with the quality.
But for ones that you might want to display and want to last - print them through your photographer’s professional lab. The paper is much higher quality, they last longer, they don’t fade or discolor. Most importantly, my monitor is calibrated to match the printing lab’s colors - this ensures that your prints will closely match the colors you see on screen.
I hope this helps you choose and if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. I am always happy to help!
